In the continuity of the NOW Comics, Mishi Kato was one of the individuals to take up the vigilante guise of Kato. She is the granddaughter of the original Kato and was the crime-fighting partner of the Paul Reid iteration of the Green Hornet. She later took up an alternate, more lethal vigilante identity, as the Crimson Wasp.

Born in 1964, Mishi was the only daughter of Ikano Kato and Marie Granier Kato and was Ikano's fourth child overall. In 1981, she attended the wedding of Britt Reid II and Lenore Case, where she caught the bouquet. While at the wedding, Mishi met Paul Reid, who should eventually become crime-fighting partners with. At some point between 1981 and 1989, she attended MIT. From 1987 to 1989, she helped the elder Britt Reid create a new Black Beauty for whoever chose to take up the Green Hornet mantel. In 1989, she adopted the vigilante guise of Kato to help take down Angela DeVane. After going on several adventures with Paul, Mishi had to leave the United States and go to Zurich to help run her company after a designer had been injured.
