Green Hornet Wiki

Jasper Jenks is a character who appears in the Green Hornet radio series, where he is a reporter for The Daily Sentinel. He first appeared as a potential replacement for Michael Axford, after Axford's actor, Jim Irwin, had a stroke which rendered him unable to continue playing the character. He appeared in the series from February to December of 1938.

Role in the radio series[]

Jasper Jenks first appeared in Episode 208. When the son of a wealthy couple turns up dead near one of Dan Reid's oil wells, Daily Sentinel publisher Britt Reid recruits every available reporter to investigate the cast, including Jasper, who is later mentioned has having made an error in his reporting on the facts of the case. Despite his mistake, Jenks is portrayed in the following episode, along with Ed Lowry, as being one of the Daily Sentinel's most competent reporters. Jenks would go on to make several other appearances, with his final one being Episode 246. A few weeks later, in Episode 251, it was mentioned that Jenks had taken a new job in Washington D.C. However, by November, he had returned to his former position at the Daily Sentinel. His last appearance was in Episode 299, after which he was mentioned one final time in Episode 367, where he is mentioned by Mike Axford as still being a member of the Daily Sentinel staff.
