Green Hornet Wiki

Felix Grant is a character who appeared in the first chapter of the 1940 Green Hornet film serial, where he is portrayed by Canadian-American actor Edward Earle. He is local businessman who is also a member of the mysterious criminal syndicate that controls a large portion of the city's crime.

Role[]

When The Daily Sentinel begins to report criminal activities backed by the Syndicate, the Syndicate's leadership determines to purchase the Daily Sentinel just as they did the previous two newspapers that reported into their activities. One of the Syndicate's members, Felix Grant, is assigned to orchestrate the purchase. Grant presents the newspaper's owner Britt Reid—who is secretly the masked vigilante known as the Green Hornet—with a generous offer, however Reid declines. He also peppers Grant with questions as to the nature of the buyer, which Grant refuses to directly answer. Upon concluding their meeting, Grant is unknowingly tailed by Daily Sentinel reporter Michael Axford. Grant is mortified when the Syndicate informs him that he was followed, and he is ordered to leave town until the situation can be resolved.

Later, the Green Hornet searches Grant's mansion for clues, only to find that Grant has already burned most of the evidence. He begins to question Grant, but is quickly interrupted when the Syndicate's enforcers discover them and fatally wound Grant.
