Biography[]
Early Life[]
Britt Reid had a difficult relationship with his father, who believed Britt was just a playboy. Britt rescued a young Korean man named Kato from a native in Singapore that tried to kill him, Kato then went on to become his valet and a close friend. The two also encountered a giant green hornet during a trip to Africa. Following his father's death he inherited The Sentinel newspaper and became it's new boss.
Tunnel of Terror[]
Following the destruction of the Billings Dam, which was the result of its shoddy construction, Britt wondered if it was badly built on purpose. After getting some information from a worker named Gorman that a tunnel was being built with bad material and faulty equipment under the river, Gorman accidentally died and The Sentinel spread the rumors that he may have been murdered. Felix Grant tried to buy The Sentinel in order to stop him from investigating the matter further, but Britt declined the offer after Grant refused to reveal the identities of the other two members of the mysterious "syndicate" that wanted to buy his newspaper. Britt asked his bodyguard Michael Axford to follow Grant's car but he was stopped by two other men that were hired to protect Grant.

This was enough for Britt to start investigating the case himself, using a mask to cover his identity as well as a gas gun made by Kato to defend himself. Naming himself The Green Hornet, he traveled with Kato in the Black Beauty to Mr. Grant's home in order to interrogate him, only for Grant to be quickly killed by members of the syndicate. The public and media blamed the Hornet for the murder to Mr. Grant. The Green Hornet then infiltrated the tunnel under the river and forced Lou Markeim to take him to the compression lock, where he threatened him to reveal the names of his partners. As the aire pressure went down, making the walls collapse, the Green Hornet made sure the workers got out of the tunnel but he stayed with Markeim as the tunnel collapsed, with both being hit by the flood water.
