Better Little Books (originally Big Little Books) were small, compact books featuring a captioned illustration on one page and text on the opposite page. The first books were originally published by Whitman Publishing Company in 1932. In 1938, the series was renamed Better Little Books and continued to be published into the 1960s. The initial price was 10 cents, later increasing to 15 cents.
Whitman Books released three books based on the Green Hornet, all of which were written by Fran Striker and served as tie-in novels to the radio series.
